It started in 1992

Our Story

Ricardo Espinoza, owner of Tacho’s Mexican Restaurant, arrived in the U.S. at the age of 18 and began working in kitchens as a dishwasher, busboy, and whatever job he could find. But his real passion was construction; he loves creating things with his own hands. As he met more people, he started doing more work for restaurants, remodeling and helping owners get their businesses up and running. He observed and learned about what it takes to have a successful business as he built them. Ricardo then met his former business partner and helped remodel some buildings in the Portland area. He was given the opportunity to team up with this person and work together in the Oregon City area. Eventually, they parted ways, but Ricardo kept the restaurant and worked hard to make it a place for families to come to. Ricardo and his wife met in Los Angeles, and she has always supported him in all his endeavors. Together, they have two beautiful daughters and four grandchildren. His beloved son Ricky, who passed away in 2003, was very important to him. His family used to call Mr. Espinoza “Tacho” when he was a child. Ricardo prides himself on the family atmosphere and providing customers with the perfect dining experience with food dishes that have been passed down for generations. Since 1992, Tacho’s has been a part of NW Oregon, creating the “Spice of Life” that everyone has come to love. Sincerely,

Principle
